Knockout Stage[]
Ten UEFA countries advanced to the knockout stage. With UEFA countries paired together, only 3 UEFA countries and England did not reach the quarter finals. France become the 1998 champions beating Croatia, Italy and Norway on route. Whilst Croatia won the third place play-off against Netherlands.
